Musée des Beaux-Arts

by Guillaume Martial

‘‘ The ascent to Palais Longchamp or how to make it easy – watch your step though! ”

The Artist

After a 10-year career in high-level figure skating, Guillaume Martial went on to study audiovisual communication in Paris. His short films have won prizes at several festivals. His photographic work focuses on the ambiguous position of man in the environment, conjugating appropriation and maladjustment. His work incorporates a social, human and contemporary dimension. His book, "The little mechanic" (Le petit garagiste) was published in 2010 by Éditions Singulières. He was awarded first prize for the "SFR Young Talents" project and exhibited at the Paris Town Hall in 2012.

Musée des Beaux-Arts

A magnificent, 19th-century monument opening onto pretty, tree-filled grounds, the fully-restored Palais Longchamp now provides the setting for the extended Fine Arts Museum, designed to welcome the finest international exhibitions, together with the collections of the Natural History Museum.

In 2013, this was the venue for the "Van Gogh to Bonnard" exhibition hosted by the "Grand Atelier du Midi", dedicated to the world's finest 19th and 20th-century artists.
