Musée Granet

by Alexandre Ciancio

‘‘ Muses. A silky spacefilled with volatile vapours, powdery surfaces and glittering stained-glasswindows. Muffled footsteps, dim lights.. our friends the Muses go to bathe inthe dawn mist. Our friends the muses go to dream on a bronze cloud. ”

The Artist

Born in 1988, Alexandre is a graduate of the National School of Architecture in Nantes. His mentors include Benjamin Avignon, Louis Paillard, Philippe Barré and Pascal Fourrier. Musée Granet

During the "Marseille-Provence Capital of Culture 2013" celebrations, the "Musée Granet" welcomed nearly 250,000 visitors come to savour the "Grand Atelier du Midi" exhibition – one of the highlights of the cultural year.

Since 2010, the new French, Nordic and Italian collections, spanning the 15th to the 17th century, have embellished the splendid permanent collection, featuring Granet, Ingres and the "From Cézanne to Giacometti" donation. An exceptional array of around 500 paintings, sculptures and archaeological objects.
