by Guillaume Martial
‘‘ Observatory. The MDAA, or an open-air museum. ”
After a 10-year career in high-level figure skating, Guillaume Martial went on to study audiovisual communication in Paris. His short films have won prizes at several festivals. His photographic work focuses on the ambiguous position of man in the environment, conjugating appropriation and maladjustment. His work incorporates a social, human and contemporary dimension. His book, "The little mechanic" (Le petit garagiste) was published in 2010 by Éditions Singulières. He was awarded first prize for the "SFR Young Talents" project and exhibited at the Paris Town Hall in 2012.www.gmartial.fr
Musée départemental Arles antique
2013 was a great year for the MDAA. After welcoming the Rodin exhibition, it was the turn of the "Arles ‐ Rhône 3" barge to return to the quaysides nearly 2,000 years after its construction.
Now ranked a "National Treasure", the Roman barge is exhibited in an 800 sq. metre room, built specially for the occasion. This is the first virtually fully-equipped Roman vessel to be presented to the public and another good excuse to visit this blue museum created by Ciriani on the banks of the Rhône river.Know more
