Aix-en-Provence Tourist Office

Aix en Provence - Tourist office

The city of Aix en Provence is an ideal size for visitors to explore its history on foot: from the thermal spa created by the Romans, via Cours Mirabeau built in the 17th century, to the distinctly urban architecture of black concrete and glass of the Ballet Preljocaj's Black Pavilion (2006), Aix en Provence is a place to visit and discover all year round.

Provence's famous son, Paul Cézanne, was honoured by the city in 2006. He immortalised in paint, both oils and watercolours, several sites which can be visited today: his studio, the Jas de Bouffan property, the Bibémus quarries, and of course the famous Sainte-Victoire mountain, one of the artist's favourite motifs.

The flagship city of a combined district council of 34 towns and villages, Aix en Provence wants to ensure that its town planning and development are balanced and harmonious, to keep visitors coming all year round and preserve the quality of life which has made it famous down the centuries around the world.

If you plan to come to Aix en Provence for your holiday or just a weekend, and if you need help while you are here, the staff at the Tourist Office will be happy to help you any day of the year. We are a 4-star office and were awarded the NF quality label for service in 1997.
