La Villa Madie
Cassis - Food guide restaurant
The setting is exquisite: a modern villa delicately perched on a balcony overlooking one of the most stunning seaside landscapes of Europe, with dramatic red cliffs, austere pine trees and a clear blue sea. Its food is intimately linked to the landscape: highly experienced chef Dimitri Droisneau (formerly of La Réserve de Beaulieu, La Tour d'Argent and the Bristol), creates highly elaborate, sumptuous, and sophisticated - but never artificial - dishes. An excerpt from the menu: "Lightly grilled rock red mullet served with its jus, accompanied by saffron-dusted soft braised fennel and almonds." Marielle Droisneau's warm welcome is in a class of its own: discreet, exceptional, and never ostentatious. Enjoy the same wonderful view, whether in "la Petite cuisine" bistro or upstairs, together with highly reasonable prices: a wonderful way of exploring the area before returning in the evening for a taster menu.
