Fontblanche - Roquefort la Bedoule, from Grand Caunet to Chapelle Saint-André

Roquefort la Bédoule - Walk - Toute l'année

A series of lofty mounts extending into the neighbouring Var region lies on the outskirts of the Bouches-du-Rhône region, to the east of the mouth of the Rhône river. And although the adjacent town of Roquefort la Bédoule, to the south of Aubagne, is highly urbanized, its limestone hills are genuine natural treasures, boasting far-reaching views. This itinerary partially crosses the GR98 long-distance footpath, famed for its fabulous panoramic vistas. Sea lovers will adore the seascapes visible to the south and west, unveiling La Ciotat, the "calanques" (coastal fjords) and Bay of Marseille. Inland fans will love the varied interior relief, featuring the grey rocky mountains of Sainte-Baume, Pic de Bertagne, Garlaban and Sainte-Victoire to the north. Divided up out into neat squares of vines, the plains of Roquefort and Cuges offer an interesting insight into the local agricultural layout. And if you fancy a rest from your geography lesson, nothing can beat a rest at the welcoming picnic tables of Chapelle Saint-André.
