La Ciotat, Cassis - Beach

En prenant la route des crêtes entre Cassis et la Ciotat, on découvre les falaises de Soubeyran qui surplombent le littoral. Le point le plus haut c'est le Cap Canaille (399 mètres), la falaise la plus haute d'Europe.
La très belle route des Crêtes, tranchée dans les poudingues calcaires, permet de rejoindre Cassis, ce célèbre petit village, ancien port de pêche romain devenu station balnéaire et climatique animée, à La-Ciotat.
Le port de Cassis, centre de pêche au XIXème siècle au coeur d'un bassin agricole et centre de villégiature dans les premières années du XXème siècle, se trouve à l'abri des falaises de la Gardiole et du cap Canaille. La réputation de ses vignobles de coteau s'ajoute à sa vocation touristique. Cassis accueille en effet, jusqu'à 35 000 habitants l'été.
