Discover the load History Museum, the former prison of the 17th century showing the graffiti of the convicts who were a stop on the path that led to the bagne of Toulon, welcomes today the Urgonia Museum and the Municipal Tourist Office in the village.The exhibitions presented in this place reveal you the unique and fascinating history of this territory for 130 million years. Marine and continental episodes follow one another, revealing a procession of fossilized animals now extinct and the remains left by the man since his arrival in this area about 10,000 years ago.Become geological site of international standard since the half of the 19th century, traces of the exploitation of the urgonian limestone are numerous and varied as you will discover. Soon, an ornithological exhibition devoted to the thirteen protected bird species taken into account by the Life of Alpilles program will complement the themes.Fun and interactive visits over the discovery of local heritage, this invitation to travel back in time to embellishing panels and video documentaries. Digital terminals allow you to complete and test your knowledge in a fun and interactive way. Guided tours of the visits accompanied by to discover the Museum and the path of stone are available on registration. Feel free to ask the program and schedules to the members of the team who are at your disposal and will answer your questions in the home of the Museum. Educational visit a pedagogical accompaniment device allows the reception of school groups.
