Located at the gates of the city of Arles, the benedictine Abbey of nobleman is an exceptional example of a monument that reflects nearly eight centuries of history and architecture in Provence for a community of 50 to 80 monks consists of several buildings and form a repertoire of Romanesque, Gothic and classical styles with eight centuries of history and monastic architecture of 949 to 1791. It is also a place of inspiration for modern art and contemporary, the site fascinates including Van Gogh (1853-1890) who makes many drawings in 1888-1889.
