It was in 1927 that Mr Pierre Chassaing wine merchant in Paris and grandfather of Mr Patrick Henry, current owner-operator, creates the domain. He plant the vine and created a flock of sheep.In 1972, Patrick and Marie Cécile undertake to renew the vineyard. The vineyard extends now, over 170 hectares around the cellar of the Isle Saint Pierre.For reds and wines Rosé grape varieties are merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Arinarnoa, Tannat. For white wines the grapes are chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, muscat à petits grains.A plot is devoted to testing of new varieties (arinarnoa), as well as experimentation with grape varieties originating in other regions (gewurztraminer, tannat,...).The terroir of the Isle Saint Peter area: in the heart of the Camargue in the heart of the Camargue, the vineyard is located on deep, well-drained, sandy loam ground where the Mediterranean climate is tempered by the proximity of the sea and ponds.The frequent Mistral naturally ensures the health of the vine.The viticulture in the area Isle Saint Pierre: the respect of traditional methods, without any recourse to chemical desharbants.The work of the vineyard respects traditional methods, without any recourse to chemical herbicides. Working the soil to obtain a root system deep, in order to preserve the vines of the summer drought.Special attention is paid to the leaf surface of the vine in order to have a balance between production and leaf exposed to light surface.Finally, treatments are implementing a rational control program.The area Isle Saint Pierre early maturity allows harvesting as early as the second half of August and thus avoid then the first autumn rains. The situation of the cave in the middle of the vineyard, the use of machinery harvesting performance allows to have an optimal harvest quality.The cellar is equipped with a stainless steel reception, a Destemming and crushing, pneumatic presses, and a filtration system system. The cooling unit to control of winemaking and wine storage temperatures.
