"Psalms 2" by Heddy Maalem (The 24h of Jazz)
Martigues - Jazz et blues - Monday 30 November, every Saturday at 7 pm. Date to be confirmed.
A 2018 creation by Heddy Maalem, for and with James Carlès.
Produced by James Carlès Dance Co. & Co.
In Psalms 2 Heddy Maalem confronts intimacy with the sacred by offering a reading of Henri Matisse's "The Sadness of the King".
It is a series of solos around the sacred, resulting from personal questioning: born of a Muslim father and animist, and a Christian mother and practitioner, ... if I were all that at once? What if I was nothing of all that?
With "Psalms", I would like to understand how the meaning of the sacred is metamorphosed ... to write contemporary psalms, like a poetic flow danced to tell the relationship ...
On registration with the French Dance Federation.
Organized by the French Dance Federation and the Pablo Picasso Website.
As part of the 24 hours of jazz and the 4th edition of the Festival "Martigue'S Jazz", from November 5th to December 7th, 2019.
