Minuit moins cent secondes... L'horloge de l'apocalypse symbolisant l'imminence d'une catastrophe a été avancée à minuit moins 100 secondes en 2020. Cet outil géré par des scientifiques américains comptant 13 prix Nobel a été créé durant la guerre froide pour alerter sur les risques de fin du monde, arbitrairement définie à Minuit.

Les signes qui nous alertent des mutations climatiques ne manquent pas. Les scientifiques nous ont prévenus au moyen de nombreuses modélisations, remplaçant nos oracles et nos prophéties par des scénarios prospectifs. Et pourtant la situation contemporaine est celle d'un état de seuil où rien ne semble avoir changé et où tout soudainement pourrait basculer.

Témoins de ces crises, les artistes mettent au coeur de leur réflexion le futur et sa prévision. Dans cette première partie, Éternité explore nos réactions face à ces potentiels changements et les interrogations qui en découlent. Quelles attitudes allons-nous adopter ? Sommes-nous impuissants ou pouvons-nous influer sur le futur ? Pouvons-nous réparer la Nature grâce à la technologie et à la science et exercer un contrôle plus important sur la terre ?

Une exposition produite par CHRONIQUES, Biennale des Imaginaires Numériques, imaginée par SECONDE NATURE et ZINC, avec le soutien de la Ville d'Aix-en-Provence.
