L'association des Amis de la Fondation Vasarely organise une conférence animée par Agnès Ghenassia, Professeur agrégée d'arts plastiques et conférencière art moderne et contemporain.
Le schéma traditionnel veut que l'art crée et que les arts appliqués, dont la publicité fait partie, suivent. Mais l'histoire démontre que de nombreuses imbrications complexifient cette idée reçue et que les artistes ont eux aussi exploité parfois le langage des annonceurs.
Depuis les affiches de Toulouse-Lautrec qui ont acquis le statut d'oeuvre d'art, jusqu'aux plus récents détournements d'oeuvres iconiques par les marques, les relations entre art et publicité se révèlent riches d'échange et de contaminations réciproques qui vont nourrir notre réflexion.
De nombreux artistes ont suivi cette voie à laquelle Victor Vasarely n'a pas échappé.
