The seven wonders of the Bouches-du-Rhône
This tour showcases seven wonders around the Bouches-du-Rhône, easily covered in just half a day if you're riding in a helicopter or – and this is our personal recommendation – staggered over several days during your next trip to Provence! Starting in the north of the department, make your way slowly but surely down to Marseille. The first wonder is Les Baux-de-Provence, one of the prettiest villages in France. Then travel back in time at the Arles Amphitheatre before you are completely wowed by the Camargue countryside. Like Cézanne, you'll be enchanted by the sight of Mount Saint-Victoire before you head for a stroll along Cours Mirabeau, the main boulevard in the centre of Aix-en-Provence. End with a flourish in Marseille where its Old Port and calanques, those stunning natural creeks, are protected world heritage sites.
Between sea and lakes, a leisurely tour of the Côte Bleue
Explore the typical towns and villages along the 'Blue Coast' amidst lakes and the Mediterranean Sea at your own pace. First Istres with its beaches bordering the biggest inland sea in Europe. Then Martigues with its pretty canals, bridges and quays which have inspired painters for hundreds of years. And lastly Carry-le-Rouet, the pearl of the Côte Bleue, its coastline awash with creeks, beaches and hillside capes.

The programme features top addresses in Aix-en-Provence, Marseille and Arles, offering special amenities for all types of disability and the promise of an unforgettable break in the very best conditions. Day 1 begins with an enriching cultural immersion in the town of Aix-en-Provence. Next, it's time to head off to Marseille for a visit to the famous MuCEM museum, before enjoying a relaxing stroll in the exotic atmosphere of the city's Old Port (Vieux-Port), followed by the must-see Notre-Dame de la Garde Basilica and its magnificent sweeping views over the whole of Marseille. Last but definitely not least, is stunning Camargue and the town of Arles – a UNESCO World Heritage Site - where you will tour the "Musée Départemental Arles Antique" to delve into the town's ancient Roman history. Your stay winds up in style with a visit to the entertaining "Musée de la Camargue", where past and present rub shoulders on the themes of Art, Nature and Society.
