Arles, cultural city break ancient and modern

Arles is an oasis of antiquity with its archaeology museum, Roman amphitheatre and the long-condemned ancient cryptoporticus. You'll travel back to the Middle Ages with a visit to the Church of St. Trophime and Montmajour Abbey that affords fantastic views all around. At the Fondation Van Gogh, learn about the painter's work and his influence on the art world, while the Réattu gives you an insight into 19th and 20th century art history. Don't forget to stop for lunch (we recommend J.L Rabanel) and follow that with more culture at the Actes Sud centre.

Between sea & hills, La Ciotat with all the family

A renowned seaside resort, the town of La Ciotat has plenty of surprises up its sleeve! You can opt for a casual seaside stroll or take the easy route into the hills. This break offers a variety of activities: outdoor recreation led by "Expenature", the beautiful ''Jardins de l'Espérance" park, fun and games at the "Flots Bleus" Casino and culture at the Eden Theatre – the world's oldest movie theatre still in operation! There's no doubt about it, La Ciotat has something for every taste. What's more, the town has recently refashioned its footpaths, now accessible to reduced-mobility visitors, for an enchanting break between town and country.

Martigues and Marigagne by Ma Cigale est Fantastique

The towns of Marignane and Martigues, situated between land and sea, sit proudly on the banks of the étang de Berre. We have all heard of Marignane airport, but we know little about the town itself, which is an interesting place to visit. The town centre is currently being renovated. Martigues, Provence’s answer to Venice, is an island criss-crossed by canals that connect it directly to the sea. Together we will (re)discover the charms of these little-known towns.
