Nature and the environment - Dates and program to be confirmed

Luxury shopping tour in Aix-en-Provence by Les Marseillaises

Enjoy shopping, art and gastronomy with a break right in the heart of Aix-en-Provence. Aix-en-Provence, a small, legendary town in the South of France that has inspired painters from all over the world, is still welcoming upmarket boutiques, which never fail to catch tourists’ attention. Here is our itinerary for visiting some of Aix’s most luxurious addresses.

The leading lights in architecture

For your architecture-themed day, this tour will show you buildings and works designed by leading lights including Jean Nouvel, Franck Gehry, Rudy Ricciotti, Stefano Boeri, Le Corbusier, Kengo Kuma, Pouillon, Vasarely, Tadao Endo and others. It will take you to the MuCEM and its amazing footbridge before you get to visit the Villa Méditerranée that is half suspended over the Mediterranean Sea. When lunchtime arrives, we suggest you head to Le Ventre de l’Architecte (literally 'the architect's belly'!) in the Cité Radieuse designed by the great Le Corbusier. The FRAC and its fascinating façade is the next stop on the tour. The Regards de Provence Museum is an example of a very successful restoration while the luminescent modular components which make up the Fondation Vasarely are simply mesmerising. Lastly, conclude your tour at Château La Coste, where architecture meets wine.

Istres by Ma cigale est fantastique

The "Porte d’Arles" gives us direct access to the historical centre, which is well worth a visit. I suggest starting by the Tourist Office. This decidedly contemporary building reflects the spirit of the town at the crossroads of tradition and modernity. We will do a little shopping and then take a cultural and gourmet break. We will take a quiet stroll in the Etang de l’olivier gardens before going the other side to the Etang de Berre for a bite to eat.

Quince

Quince

A story that will make you turn to jelly...

As yellow as sunshine and as warm as a winter fireplace... The quince isn't very pretty, but the people of Provence love it. You could even say that a passion has been born between this irregular-shaped fruit, somewhat resembling a dented, rustic pear and our lovers of jams, jellies and pastes.

Between Bad Boys and Mia... Rap in Marseille

Thanks to the huge success of bands such as IAM and La Fonky Family, Marseille has earned its status as one of France's foremost rap capitals. Hoisted to heritage status in this city known for its gift of the gab, the movement has propelled a new generation of signature names to the front of the scene: the heirs have arrived.

Goat's Cheese

Goat's Cheese

Whether it's served hot with a salad, used to crown a cheese platter, or savoured fresh with honey or olive oil, goat's cheese is an absolute culinary must. Provence's dry, sunny climate is perfect for goat breeding -and that's lucky for us!
