Dear old stones

Do you love old stone buildings and Provence? For this heritage tour, start your day at Marseille's Roman docks before heading to the modern and interactive Marseille history museum. Today's lunch recommendation is Une Table au Sud in the Old Port. It's very close to the city's archaeological museum, a fantastic way to get to grips with Marseille from today and back to the past. The following day, a morning at the Arles Antique museum will fly by until your lunch at Mas de la Fenière in the shade of mulberry trees. In Saint-Rémy, the ancient town of Glanum will bring your two-day tour to a wonderful conclusion.

FESTIVAL D'AIX ITINERARY

The Aix-en-Provence Festival is one of the cultural highlights of summer in Provence. The festivities kick off with AIX EN JUIN – the prelude to the Festival d'Aix– and continue until July 22nd. If you want to enjoy the festival to the full, the PASS offers access to all of the AIX EN JUIN public events, together with reduced rates during the Festival itself. Headlining a packed programme of exciting concerts and master classes, this is a wonderful way to get a whole new angle on Aix-en-Provence...

Aix-en-Provence, cultural city break

Cézanne's studio is your first window into this weekend before you head off to take a tour of the more iconic sites in Aix such as the Pavillon Vendôme and the tapestry museum. There's a wonderful mix of the old and new as you alternate between the Fondation Vasarely, the sumptuous town houses in the Mazarin district (Caumont, Granet, Gallifet) and the peace and calm around the fountain on Place d'Albertas. In between art museums, enjoy a feast for the eyes and the palate at Mickaël Féval, a real treat for the senses!
