Pays salonais and its chateaux, heritage and wine
Pays Salonais makes a great family day out with plenty of fun and original things to do. After a deliciously simple lunch prepared by the chef at the Table du Roy, follow the road to the ruins of a village destroyed by an earthquake at the turn of the 20th century. In the afternoon, why not head to the zoo? It's the biggest one in the region and runs a programme to protect endangered species. Then make you way to the Marius Fabre Museum to learn all about how genuine Marseille soap is made.
Shopping in Aix-en-Provence by Anais et Pedro
Aix-en-Provence, a small town not far from Marseille where everything can be done on foot, which is pretty cool! We are going to take you on a tour round the quaint cobbled streets to discover some great shops and show you some of our favourite places to spend a lovely day in the sun! Don’t forget to look up because there is some outstanding architecture to be seen here.
Tour of the Alpilles, olives, villages and more
There's a lot to see in the Alpilles, so it's a race against the clock if you hope to fit it all in. The humble olive is the star of the region and tours and tastings are available at plenty of local estates. For lunch, get a table at Le Patio, totally devoted to regional produce and set in a former sheep fold. Les Olivades is devoted to the manufacture of Provençal fabric. To stretch your legs, walk around Aureille, Orgon and Chiari cheese dairy. A visit to Saint-Rémy isn't complete without enjoying a sumptuous treat from the Lilamand confectioner's. Ready? Steady... Go!
