The sea - feast of St Peter's holiday

Cassis - Provençal Tradition - In June - Dates and program to be confirmed

Tradition is a place for tradition with one of the must-see festivals of our heritage, the Feast of St. Peter's Day. It celebrates the sea and asks the Patron Saint of Sinners to protect the sailors and make fishing fruitful all year round. On the program:- 10am: Mass in tribute to Saint Peter: patron saint's day organised by fishermen's corporations. Every year, at the end of June, fishermen honour Saint Peter, patron saint of fishermen, in order to ask for his intercession to have fruitful fisheries and to guard against the bad weather as well as against all disasters related to fishing. - 11am: Blessing of the boats and tribute to the disappeared at sea with the participation of the boatmen of the port of Cassis and the boats of the coves of Cassis. The celebration of St. John's Day is being undermined this year and will not take place in Cassis due to health restrictions imposed in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. This does not prevent you from celebrating this holiday in the private sphere, with family or friends. A good way to start summer and beautiful evenings outdoors
