Olive Oil Market of Aix-en-Provence AOP
Aix en Provence - Christmas in Provence, Provençal Christmas - December 14th and 15th from 9am till 7pm
Organised by the "Syndicat AOC Huile d'Olive d'Aix-en-Provence", this fun and friendly event celebrates the year's new AOC Aix-en-Provence olive oil. Throughout the weekend, the producers and millers of Aix offer visitors the chance to taste their wares, including olive oils, olives, "tapenades", biscuits and "gibassiés" (a kind of bread made with olive oil). Punters will also be able to appreciate the talent of local craftsmen specializing in carved olive wood, weaving and even flower arranging on the Christmas theme, thanks to the participation of the Bouches-du-Rhône florists' syndicate.
