My ladies rock

Aix en Provence - Danse - October 16th at 8pm and 17th at 7pm

Au Grand Théâtre de Provence, à partir d'une playlist de quatorze chansons de grandes dames du rock, Jean-Claude Gallotta livre une succession de tableaux chorégraphiques nostalgiques et puissants. Un spectacle énergique et tourbillonnant.

Ballet rock. C'est à l'occasion d'une création précédente, My Rock, que Jean-Claude Gallotta a croisé la route de voix féminines qu'il estimait avoir alors quelque peu négligées. Le chorégraphe leur rend, avec My Ladies Rock, un vibrant hommage. Janis Joplin, Wanda Jackson, Patty Smith ou Nina Hagen inspirent et rythment le spectacle, en quatorze tableaux mettant chacun en scène une chorégraphie inspirée par chacun des titres choisis.

En prélude, on découvre dans une courte vidéo des éléments de biographie des chanteuses. Dans ce foisonnement de musiques et de mouvements féminins, même les hommes endossent robes et talons pour figurer un vent de liberté que ces femmes fortes ont souvent aidé à souffler. Un enivrant et tourbillonnant voyage qui prend tous les accents et nuances du rock à partir des années 1950, ode à ces femmes qui ont dû, pour s'imposer, faire valoir toute la puissance de leur talent. Réunissant à nouveau la danse contemporaine et le rock, qui a influencé son enfance et son adolescence, Jean-Claude Gallotta ose un mélange des genres dont ses danseurs s'emparent avec un enthousiasme communicatif.
