Ciné-Cité-Philo est depuis 2010 un cycle annuel de conférences-projections qui aborde les thèmes par lesquels chacun de nous vit et pense le monde contemporain.
La formule est simple : un cycle de conférences, suivies d'une projection cinéma qui transpose à l'écran et par la fiction les concepts abordés lors de la conférence.
L'objectif est ambitieux : favoriser les éclairages complémentaires et permettre à chacun d'exercer son esprit critique à l'intersection de la philosophie et d'autres disciplines. Depuis 2018, Ciné-Cité-Philo est conjointement organisé par l'Institut de l'Image, L'Université Populaire du Pays d'Aix, la Ville d'Aix-en-Provence et le Collège International de Philosophie.

Tous les hommes mais aussi tous les animaux sont de la même race" disait Porphyre au 3e siècle dans son Traité sur l'abstinence de la chair des animaux. Cette parenté universelle du vivant trouvera sa confirmation au 19e siècle avec la théorie darwinienne de l'évolution et de la sélection naturelle. LA biologie enfonce aujourd'hui le clou en montrant qu'entre un chimpanzé et un humain, la différence génétique et physiologique est moindre qu'entre un gorille et un chimpanzé : l'humain ne serait donc qu'un singe parmi d'autres. La pensée occidentale comme notre organisation sociale continuent de reposer sur la grande coupure entre nous et les autres espèces animales.
D'autres rapports que ceux de la domestication, de domination et d'exploitation ne peuvent être noués avec nos plus ou moins proches parents ? Tels sont les enjeux existentiels, épistémologiques et politiques de ce cycle.

▶ Le 19 mars à 18h30, conférence "Nos rapports aux animaux : quels enjeux civilisationnels ?" suivie du film de Ed Antoja.
