What is there to do at Maussane-les-Alpilles?

Discover the oil mills and the olive tree fields at the foot of the Alpilles and then it’s time to party! Maussane-les-Alpilles ids the Provencal village par excellence with its square in the shadow of the PLATANES. And every Thursday morning the stalls are set up for the market near the boule track where the seniors enjoy a game. Traditional festivities are plentiful in summer: feast of St Eloi with its Carreto Ramado, the national feast of 14 July followed by the fireworks, the votive festival on 15 August with taurine games, balls and the aioli, a traditional meal served on the village square. And above all, in late August the big event of Maussane, “le Temps retouve” a village festival that takes you back to the old days, from Pagnol to Giono. Old bicycles, old crafts, guingettes... No, you are not dreaming, we are in the XXIst century! For one day the whole village goes back in time to the beginning of the previous century.
